I saw insane in the mid 90’s, they got my respect instantly, opening for slayer in 95. I’ve been a fan since, this album is stuff I’ve. Ever heard and it stands up with everything they have ever done and better than most out there. 3 guys and such a heavy sound. So damn good. This album is just unbelievable, thanks for giving me a chance to purchase and even listen to it. el_mero_mero

An LP I've been listening to regularly since its release - unsettling, sui generis, yet to be topped. It really needs an official physical reissue. old_records

'A World Lit Only By Fire' is an angry and gloomy motherfucker. From the start, you're being battered with pummeling, gritty low end, piercing dissonance and industrial cold. It paints a dystopian picture in my mind - of bulldozers slowly crawling through a wasteland and people hiding in sheer panic, hungry and desperate for a glimpse of hope. But in 'A World Lit Only By Fire', there is no such thing. Simon Sludge
